Each year, Tulare DHIA is proud to award scholarships to outstanding students in our community. Applications are available at the Tulare DHIA office, on TulareDHIA.com, and through local high schools.
Scholarship funding is made possible through the proceeds of our annual Golf Tournament.

All questions must be answered in full, and a recent photograph must be included with your application.

Thanks to the generous support of last year’s Tulare DHIA Golf Tournament, we were proud to award scholarships to deserving students from each of our three local high schools. We are grateful to everyone who helped make these scholarships possible and are honored to support the next generation of our community.

18th Annual Max Corbett Scholarship Award
Lauren Starr
Lauren is a senior at Tulare Western High School and was ranked # 3 in her class.
She has been extremely active in school, sports and the community in the last four years. Lauren has excelled in school sport activities in Swim, Soccer and Water Polo. Her accomplishments are impressive being Central Section Swim Champion and 3 time league champion not to mention multiple MVP’s and league championships in all her sports. She also won Overall Master Dairy Showman and Supreme Champion at the last Tulare County Fair. Lauren has supported families through the Salvation Army Angle Tree and volunteering at St. Aloysius Church events such as Vacation Bible School, facility set-up and clean ups and the Our Lady Fatima fundraiser.
She plans on attending Loyola Marymount University majoring in Mathematics and has committed to playing Division 1 water polo there. She has worked with students as a math tutor while at Tulare Western which has transformed her into having a genuine passion for the subject. Lauren plans to become a math teacher and hopes of supporting and inspiring students the same way her teachers inspired her.
